The New Richmond Exempted Village School District is thrilled to announce Paul Daniels has been chosen to serve as the district’s next superintendent, pending approval at the April 21 Board of Education meeting.
Mr. Daniels is currently serving as the Chief Academic Officer in the Milford Exempted Village School District. He was chosen out of a pool of numerous well-qualified applicants for the position.
“We are pleased to announce that Paul Daniels has been selected as the next Superintendent of the New Richmond Exempted Village School District,” NREVSD Board of Education President Jonathan Zimmerman said. “He brings a wealth of experience and insight to the role, as demonstrated throughout the recruitment and interview process. Paul has presented a clear vision and plan for the success of our students, staff, and community—one that we believe we can all support and strive toward together."
As superintendent, Mr. Daniels will seek to guide the district through a difficult financial stretch due to the early closure of the Zimmer Power Plant. NREVSD is projected to run an approximately $4 million deficit this fiscal year. Despite those financial difficulties, NREVSD remains a destination for leaders looking to make a difference in the lives of our students.
“The district’s strong reputation and the heart behind the work being done here are the key reasons for wanting to be part of this community,” Mr. Daniels said.
Mr. Daniels spent 14 years with Cincinnati Public Schools in a variety of roles. He taught at two elementary schools in the district before becoming the assistant principal at Withrow High School. He would later become the principal at Withrow.
In 2017, Mr. Daniels moved to a central office administrative role in Milford. He was the Director of Secondary Education prior to becoming the Chief Academic Officer.
“Over my last 22 years as a teacher, school-based administrator, and central office staff member, I have learned that strong leadership begins with presence,” Mr. Daniels said. “That’s why you’ll find me walking the halls, engaging with students, and listening to staff to observe, learn, support, and grow alongside you. If you see me out and about, please don’t hesitate to stop and introduce yourself, share a celebration, or talk through a challenge you're navigating.”
Mr. Daniels is a graduate of Bowling Green State University. He and his family reside in Batavia Township.
