Utility Assistance Funds Available

Community members in need of utility assistance can utilize one of several programs aimed to help keep the heat on during the harsh winter months.
Duke Energy's Share the Light fund is a need-based program that can provide up to $1,500 to eligible families. Customers must have a heating account and be the customer of record with a past-due balance. Applicants who live in Clermont County must apply through The Salvation Army.
The Ohio Consumers' Council Winter Crisis Program provides financial aid once per heating season from November 1 through March 31 for eligible consumers who meet the following criteria:
Have been disconnected or have received a shut-off notice,
Have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel, or
Need to establish a new service or pay to transfer service.
The WCP can also be used for fuel tank replacement/testing and heating unit repair/testing. More information is available online here.
For more information or assistance with either program, please contact NRESVD Resource Coordinator Doug Flamm (513-553-3191 ext. 10067 OR flamm_d@nrschools.org).
