🚨🚨🚧 EXCITING NEWS ALERT 👷🚨🚨
We have some EXCITING and IMPACTFUL news to share with you! STEMscapes, a revolutionary concept that explores STEM education through the use of raised garden beds, outdoor robotics coding, and a variety of hands-on building materials is coming to Monroe Elementary! Through the hard work of first grade teacher, Mr. Stock, and the OSLN (Ohio STEM Learning Network), Monroe elementary has secured a $5,000 grant to increase STEM education for ALL of our students in grades PreK-5. 💥💡👍
Students of all ages and grade levels will benefit from the grant as each student will now have access to a variety of STEM education resources and opportunities through various innovation stations which will be housed in areas such as the library, naturescape, and elementary classrooms. 💥🏗🌱
Within the naturescape area, 16 raised garden beds will be added. Students will have the opportunity to better understand plant parts and life cycles as well as the economics associated with starting a small business that has a focus on agriculture. Additionally, students will have access to 12 brand new MakerZoid robotics kits to explore coding and design in the outdoor setting via the utilization of a new outdoor coding deck area. 💥🪴🛰
Within the various innovation stations, students will have the opportunity to grow critical thinking, design, and imagination skills while exploring STEM based materials such as LEGO, Magna Tiles, and more! 💥🎢🚜
Critical thinking, collaboration, and play are at the forefront of early childhood development. We are excited to increase these for ALL students through the many enrichment opportunities that STEMscapes will present! 🧑🔬🧑🌾👷
